The Dos and Don’ts For Cleaning Your Kitchen Cabinets

It is easy to take the cleanliness of our kitchen cabinets for granted. It is recommended that they are cleaned properly at least once every month because our kitchen cabinets are exposed to dirt, grease, and bacteria.

However, when it comes to cleaning your kitchen cabinets, you should first know the dos and don’ts. We have provided a list below.

Let us start with dos

1. Use baking soda, a mild detergent or vinegar, hot water, and a soft cloth to clean your cabinets. If your cabinets are waterproof, then you can wash them with the solution; otherwise, wet the cloth with the solution and squeeze it out properly before applying it on the cabinets. Do this gently.

2. Once you are done with the cleaning, you should dry the cabinets with another piece of tint-free soft cloth.

3. Wear protective gloves because this will protect your hands from cleaning products, hot water, and bacteria that your hands will get exposed to while cleaning.

Now, we should see the don’ts:

1. Abrasive materials like scouring pads and steel wools can cause scratches and damage the finish of your cabinets, so don’t use these products at all.

2. Harsh chemicals like sodium carbonate, sodium silicate and ammonia can fade away the shine and finish of your cabinets, so don’t use any harsh-chemical based product at all.

3. You should not expose the cleaned cabinets to high heat.

These are some common dos and don’ts. Therefore, it is recommended to learn about the cleaning dos and don’ts for the kitchen cabinets you have in your home in detail so that you can clean your kitchen in the right away.
